Pearls of nature and silence around Arendonk

The walk combines several shorter walks so that you can immerse yourself in the peace and quiet of Kempen Arendonk for a full day. This municipality is intersected from east to west by the Wamp, a river that originates in the marshes Goorke, Reusels- and Postelsmoer. In the lap of the Wamp, some beautiful nature domains formed, with low moors, heathland and reed lands.

A pearl necklace of nature

Domeinbos Hoge Vijvers, Rode Del, Het Goorken, Belevensche Heide and Lokkerse Dammen: no shortage of nature reserves during this walk! You may not find any ponds in Domeinbos Hoge Vijvers, in the north of Arendonk, but with a bit of luck you can spot a hunting tree falcon or a whistling yellowhammer in the coniferous forests or above the fields and heath. You have a better chance of admiring a nightjar if you camp adventurously in the bivouac zone.

Up the dike

You can connect the swamp areas in the south and the forests of the north on the towpath of the Turnhout-Dessel-Schoten Canal. You can interrupt this long journey for a drink and a drink, or even for an overnight stay, in pancake inn De Hollanderhoeve.
