Het Goorken

Together with the Lokkerse Dammen and the Rode Del, this nature reserve, before the construction of the Dessel-Schoten Canal, was part of a cross-border swamp area in the valley of the Wamp. You will see low peat, heather and reed land as well as open water, willow and gale bushes. Several animals find a safe nest there, such as the rare heather blue, the alpine newt, the bluethroat and the water shrew. To be spotted from the lookout tower or from the bird hide!
