Gijzenrooi [Eindhoven South-East/Geldrop]

This walk goes along the edge of Geldrop and passes, among others, the Albert Heijn on Laan van Tolkien. There is of course plenty of parking space here and when you cross the road you walk into Yavanna, towards junction 66. 

An excellent alternative is at the end of the Reindeer Field in Eindhoven, a side road from Floralaan-Oost, easily accessible from the A67. 

ENVIRONMENT:

The Stratumse Heide is a beautiful area on the edge of Eindhoven. However, the section between junctions 83 and 57 runs along the A67 and the connecting road to Floraplein, so there is a lot of traffic noise there. The area is well maintained and from junction 57 you soon hear nothing of the traffic. The route runs a short distance through a quiet part of Geldrop. At Junction 33 there is also a spacious parking lot near a church, where you will also find two cafes with modest terraces. The part from Hoog Geldrop to Gijzenrooi offers beautiful meadows. By the way, there is car traffic here, so it is pleasant to walk here.

TIP:

A Blauwe Paaltjes route also runs from the parking lot at the Reindierveld. This is 7 kilometers long and largely follows the same route, but without Geldrop and Gijzenrooi.
