Tower city Zutphen
The route starts in Zutphen. This Hanseatic town has one of the best preserved historic city centers in the Netherlands. Because of the many towers, Zutphen is also called the Tower City. On the Groenmarkt you can see, for example, the Wijnhuistoren, a belfry from 1642. The St. Walburgis Church originally dates from the eleventh century!
Ampsen estate
In the countryside you drive through a mosaic of forests, stream valleys and flowery fields. What a beautiful cycling landscape! The Warkense Mill dates from 1878. In Almen you can still taste the atmosphere of the past in the village center. Lochem is a cozy and picturesque town where you can experience the friendliness of the Achterhoek. Further on you pass the old Huis Ampsen. The history of this building dates back to 1105.
