Cycling past bulb fields and sights

Sea, dunes and bulb fields: in North Holland you can fully enjoy the beautiful and varied landscape. There is also a lot of cultural history to experience, for example in Schagen you can spot many sights.

Hondsbossche Zeewering
The route starts at De Bokkesprong with Hans and Stacey. Grab a seat on a terrace here before you jump on your bike and ride to the Hondsbossche Zeewering. Furthermore, Petten is a village that was rebuilt for the fourth (!) time after the Second World War. The first two destructions (in 1421 and 1625) were caused by the sea. The third by the Germans: Petten had to make way for the Atlantic Wall in 1943. In the Pettemerduinen you can enjoy cycling in the shelter.

Beautiful Schagen
In Callantsoog, which was once an island, you can view the Reformed Church from 1580. What a picture! In't Zand you drive over one of the five remaining raft bridges in the Netherlands. There are several beautiful seventeenth-century buildings to admire in the heart of Schagen. You will also see the striking neo-Gothic Christoforus Church from 1883. The towers of Schagen Castle date from the Middle Ages. You cycle back to De Bokkesprong through the vast old polders.
