You will find plenty of variety around Nijkerk. You drive along the water of the Nijkerkernauw, the Arkemheen polder and through the De Appelse Heide nature reserve. A great recipe for a day of enjoyment!
Arkemheenpolder
The route starts in Spakenburg, a former fishing village on the Zuiderzee. You cycle along the old harbor, which enjoys a protected village view. What a wonderful atmosphere! From the old Zeedijk you look out to the left over the water of the Nijkerker and Nuldernauw. On the right you see the fourteenth-century Arkemheenpolder, wow! At Group Accommodation De Aalbertshoeve you can have a wonderful stay, but you can also book a fun activity, such as ball shooting.
Apple Heather
On the edge of Putten you will make a stopover at VOF Heimensen ho Pluktuin Het Platteland. Enjoy a coffee and something tasty here in the Pluktuin. And pick some fruit for the road. Further on you pass through the De Appelse Heide nature reserve. Just before Appel you drive through an old bocage landscape. You really feel like you're going back in time here. Delicious! Mill De Hoop dates from 1888 and served to grind grain.
