Description
There is so much to see on the Veluwe! Take this route: forest, heath, nice villages, the Aardhuis, Landgoed Staverden... you will run out of time.
Earth House
From here you quickly cycle along the edge of the Houtdorperveld, one of the largest heathlands in the Netherlands. You have magnificent panoramas. In some places the horizon seems to be tens of kilometers away. A little further on you have to get off at the Aardhuis. This former hunting chalet of Willem III is now a museum. Outside you can see wild boars!
Staverden
The Veluwe is more than just a forest: on the Elspeetse Heide you have a beautiful view of the plain from the saddle. Further on you come through Elspeet, with its characteristic old farms. Staverden is also a beautiful place: it received city rights in the thirteenth century and is therefore one of the smallest cities in the world. It was supposed to become a city, but that plan did not go through. Fortunately, it is now a wonderfully quiet village.
