Coevorden, Drenthe, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 600487
Provided by: route.nl
Your route starts at Eetcafe De Holtenploeg. Along the way you will see Saxon farms and monumental churches. In Sleen you cycle past the De Hoop flour mill from 1914. Above North Sleen, be sure to get off at Hunebed D49 - Papeloos Kerk! You continue cycling through Sleenerzand Forestry. The path through the trees seems to go on and on, here you lose all sense of time. On the Achterweg you see two Drenthe faces: on one side is Boswachterij Odoorn, on the other the neatly divided Odoornerveen. In Odoorn you pass the Margaret Church, whose choir dates from the twelfth century. Then you drive into the Valtherbos. You also cycle a bit through Emmen, a former esdorp. You drive back to your starting point via the Noordbargerbos, which was constructed around 1930.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
