From Stevensbeek in Brabant you can walk straight into the farmlands and forests. Put on your walking shoes and come and experience the soothing tranquility here.
NV Lactaria
The monumental farm complex NV Lactaria on the Kloosterstraat dates from 1911. From here a start was made with the cultivation of the vast heath. Lactaria is older than Stevensbeek itself, the village was founded in 1934 by Piets Stevens, then mayor of neighboring Sambeek.
The Hondsbergen
Just below Stevensbeek you walk through De Hondsbergen, an elongated cover sand ridge where mainly coniferous trees grow. Close your eyes here and enjoy the fresh forest air. Westerbeek is also a mining village, it originated from the mid-nineteenth century. The monumental village church dates from 1922. It is then wonderful to walk in the countryside. Ideal to recharge the battery, because in this region it is still old-fashioned quiet!
