Amstel Tour, Rondehoep and Ouderkerk

Via the junction network you cycle along the Amstel and the Overtoom where you can enjoy that characteristic vibe of Amsterdam. The Vondelpark is an icon. Once a peat meadow area, in 1865 the park was opened in English landscape style. A little later you cycle into the Amsterdamse Bos. The beautiful water features and bridges have created a special landscape here. After you have cycled along the Zijdelmeer under Uithoorn, you pass two forts that are part of the Defence Line of Amsterdam: the Fort at Uithoorn and the Fort Waver-Amstel. Over the dike you cycle along the meandering Oude Waver. You have beautiful views of the polder Rondehoep. The historic centre of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel is wonderfully atmospheric.
