Description
You start at a convenient TOP, near Oldenzaal. First you cycle through this beautiful town for a cup of coffee at Stadshotel Ter Stege. Immediately take a look at the Sint-Plechelmus Basilica, one of the 23 basilicas in the Netherlands. The itinerant missionary Plechelmus is said to have founded the church in the 8th century. Then you cycle through the greenery to Landgoed Egheria. It is a bit of a climb here, because the estate is located on and around the Tankenberg, at 85 meters the highest point in Overijssel. Through the beautiful bocage landscape of Twente you cycle past the Lutterzand nature reserve with its sand drifts and deciduous forest. You pay a short visit to Gildehaus, in Germany, and then drive. Get off to look around the picturesque Losser, it's worth it!
