Lochem is an atmospheric town in the Achterhoek. In the countryside it is wonderful to cycle through the nature reserve Het Grote Veld and the Berkelvallei.
Picturesque Lochem From the Berkel valley you drive to Lochem. Take a look at the Sint-Gudula church from 1550, one of the oldest buildings in Lochem. Its predecessor was a wooden church from 1950. Just below Lochem you see two fifty-metre-high wooded hills in the landscape: the Lochemse Berg and Kale Berg.
Grote Veld Further on you will see the Ons Belang mill from 1890 appear on the horizon. A little later you will cycle through the forests of Het Grote Veld. And you will pass the original Den Bramel dating from the fourteenth century. The current dwelling was built in 1726. In the beautiful Almen you can still experience the atmosphere of the past.
