The best Pancakes Route Heikamp Ruurlo region Lochem

Lochem is a charming town in the Achterhoek. In the countryside it is wonderful to cycle through the Het Grote Veld nature reserve and the Berkelvallei.

Picturesque Lochem
The route starts at Hotel Landgoed Ehzerwold, a cozy spot for a coffee, meal and overnight stay. From the Berkel Valley you drive to Lochem. Take a look at the St. Gudula Church from 1550, one of the oldest buildings in Lochem. Its predecessor was a wooden church from 1950. Just below Lochem you can see two fifty-meter-high wooded hills in the landscape: the Lochemse Berg and Kale Berg.

Big Field
In the woods below Ruurlo you can make a stopover at the Dutch Pancake Baking Champion: De Heikamp. Further on you will see Molen Ons Belang from 1890 appearing on the horizon. A little later you cycle through the woods of Het Grote Veld. And you pass the original Den Bramel, dating from the fourteenth century. The current building was built in 1726. In the beautiful Almen you can still experience the atmosphere of the past.
