Cycling route: 554398
Provided by: route.nl
You start this route at the Overloon War Museum. Here you will learn more about the hard battle that was fought in 1944 to liberate this part of the Netherlands. Along the way you will hear more about this at some listening points on the Liberation Route. However, there is more to experience than history: nature is also abundantly present on this route. South of Merselo, for example, you drive through the Loobeekdal. Further on you cycle through the wooded edge of the Deurnese Peel. In the mining village of Helenaveen you can get off for a cozy terrace at Hotel Eetcafé In D\\\'ouwe Peel. After a delicious meal you drive to that other Brabant extraction village: Griendtsveen. Finally, you cycle via the Schadijkse Bossen to Venray. Here you can see, among other things, the Grote Kerk from 1450.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
