The rich cultural history of the Achterhoek

This long route takes you past some pearls in the Achterhoek. You will visit beautiful old towns such as Almen, Ruurlo and the eight-castle village of Vorden. You also drive through some beautiful nature reserves, such as the Grote Veld and the Ravenswaarden. In the Achterhoek you drive through an idyllic scenic landscape. Here you can still experience the tranquility of times gone by. The many sights on your route also contribute to that feeling, such as in historic Ruurlo. Ruurlo Castle is certainly worth a visit. This centuries-old country estate is the second location of Museum MORE. Here you can also enjoy a lovely walk through the castle park and visit the Orangery. In Ruurlo you can enjoy a refreshing stopover at De Luifel. The route ends at Museum MORE where you can enjoy art and a drink and snack in the brasserie.
