From Twente to Salland

You can take a varied cycle tour around Vroomshoop. You can get your feet wet in the former Twente peat area. You cycle for a while along a characteristic peat canal, then you enter the scenic landscape of Salland. Streams and grasslands, groves and Saxon farms: the environment seems specially designed for cyclists. Between junctions 73 and 70 you cycle along the old church path from Giethmen to Ommen. The charming drawbridge over the Regge is an icon. Further on you cycle through a number of wooded estates. Take a deep breath and enjoy the fresh air. In Sibculo you will pass the site of the former Cistercian monastery Great Galilee, which was built around the year 1400. Here you can visit a newly designed monastery garden. The route ends at De Johanneshoeve.
