Tour of the West Frisian Ring Dike and Schoorl Dunes

You start at Bolletjescafé de Klok. This route takes you through the picturesque North Holland polder. First you cycle through the Schoorlse Duinen, one of the most beautiful dune areas in Europe. These are the widest dunes in the Netherlands. Along the way you will take in the Schoorlse Duinen and the Frisian Omringdijk, a cultural-historical monument. Then you cycle through an open landscape, in which old picturesque villages, ditches and waterways, grasslands and dunes alternate. You also cycle part of the way along the coast, so that you can enjoy a breath of fresh air with a view over the blue horizon. Bulbs are grown in some fields, which produces a beautiful palette of intense colours in the season. You also cycle part of the way over the Frisian Omringdijk, the only monumental dike in the world.
