Between Volendam and Hoorn you can cycle along the IJsselmeer coast. Immediately take part in the Beemster, a UNESCO World Heritage site!
West Friesland
The West Frisian region in North Holland is a relatively unknown cycling gem. At a short distance you can enjoy a vast landscape, old (ribbon) villages and a rich cultural history. And of course the view over the water: during this bike tour you can see for miles as you ride along the shore of the IJsselmeer. Many sailing boats glide by on the water, their masts looking like small twigs from a distance.
The Beemster
This varied route also takes you into the polders of De Beemster. The polder is veined with ditches, canals and channels to regulate the water level. Not only the polder, but also the Beemster villages breathe history.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
