Enjoy the Over-Betuwe

The Over-Betuwe region is an ideal cycling area just outside Arnhem and Nijmegen. In this sparsely populated area, you'll find charming old villages, abundant natural beauty, and wonderful tranquility.

Winding Dikes. From the edge of the village of Bemmel, you cycle straight into the polder. You'll cycle through a mix of expansive meadows and orchards. Along the winding dikes, you'll see many characteristic old farms. In the hamlet of Homoet, on Homoetsestraat, you'll pass a site that is considered an archaeological monument. Traces of habitation from the Iron Age and Roman periods have been found there.

Lingezegen Park. From the Rhine dike near Driel, you can look out over the Lower Rhine. Across the water, you can see the green Veluwe moraine on the horizon: a magnificent view. Just south of Arnhem, you'll drive along the Rijkerswoerdse Plassen.
