The Grail Route takes you through the Flemish Ardennes. You cycle through a rolling landscape and through Geraardsbergen and Elst, picturesque towns where you can discover delicious local dishes.
Geutelingen Museum
In the Flemish countryside you still experience peace and quiet. There may not be any large nature reserves on your route, but in the Flemish Ardennes there is enough natural beauty to discover. You cycle through a series of forests, open fields, fields and sunken roads. In Elst you pass the Geutelingenmuseum. Here you can see how this delicacy is baked in a brick oven fired with willow wood.
The Wall
Geraardsbergen is a beautiful old town on the Dender. On the Grote Markt on the east bank of the Dender you can admire the St. Bartholomew's Church and the neo-Gothic town hall. And, not to forget: a Manneken Pis who is no less than 160 years older than the famous little guy in Brussels. For culinary enthusiasts there is the mattentaart: a pastry made on the basis of soured milk. A little further on is De Muur, a famous slope on which many a heroic cycling race has been fought. From the top you have a beautiful view of the surroundings. Do you dare to climb De Muur?
