Route through the Oostpolder and former island of Wieringen

This route starts in the Oostpolder of the Anna Paulownapolder at B&B farm de Waard. As far as you can see you see fields of potatoes, sugar beets and wheat and here and there a windmill. If you cross the'Ulkesluis bridge you are in a younger polder, namely the Wieringermeer. The road follows the shape of the Amstelmeer and via the small marina'de Haukes\\\' you are on the former island of Wieringen. The Amstelmeer has a beach and it is used a lot by (cold) surfers and sailors. We continue through Hippolytushoef and pass windmill de Wieken on our way to Den Oever. From here it is possible to go mudflat walking or shrimp fishing, but of course you can also just order a portion of kibbeling at the harbor!
