Elburg is a beautiful fortified town a stone's throw from the Randmeren between Flevoland and Gelderland. In Elburg you can enjoy historic sights and ancient streets that betray the rich history of this old Hanseatic city. The port of Elburg is the starting point of this route. From here you can walk into the center of the town. The fortified town still has a rectangular street plan that dates back to the Middle Ages. In the center you pass one historic building after the other. The city is surrounded by beautiful ramparts and parts of the city wall. Also nice is the National Historic Organ Museum, located in a medieval city castle. Then you walk a bit outside to explore the canal that surrounds Elburg. This way you can clearly see that it is a fortified city!
