By bike from Bergeijk to Valkenswaard

The Stevertse Mill
Bergeijk is the starting point of this route. From here you cycle to Steensel and on to Stevert, where you can take a look at the Stevertse Mill. It is not known exactly when this water mill was built, but the mill was already there at the beginning of the 15th century. Over the centuries, the mill has been restored several times. From Stevert you cycle further to Valkenswaard through the Dommeldal. The landscape here consists of hay meadows, meadows, small forest areas, heathlands, ponds and hedgerows. You will also find all kinds of birds in this area, such as kingfishers, orioles, stonechats and yellowhammers.

Regional restaurant De Hofkaemer
From Valkenswaard you cycle further to Bergeijk. There you can end your tour with a tasty snack and a drink at Streekrestaurant De Hofkaemer. Go for one of the delicious regional dishes and enjoy the flavors of the Burgundian Kempen. Whether you come for lunch, dinner or just a cup of coffee with something tasty, you will find it all here.

The Dommelschemolen
On the edge of Valkenswaard you will find the Dommelschemolen. The year of construction of this watermill is also unknown, but the mill was already mentioned in the second half of the 14th century. In 1747 the mill came into the hands of the nunnery of Arendonk. The rulers then prohibited farmers from having their grain ground at this mill. Later the mill passed to another owner. Until 1977, flour for bakeries and compound feed was ground at the mill. Nowadays the mill is no longer in use.
