Description

Go out by bike in the Geldermalsen area and let yourself be carried along the banks of the Waal. Along the way you will pass charming villages with beautiful sights, such as castles. Ophemert is the starting point of this route. From here you head to the village of Varik with the striking church tower the'Fat Tower\\\' from the 15th century, a remnant of the medieval village church. Mill De Bol was built just outside the village in 1867. The Waal leads you to Waardenburg with the castle of the same name. It was built here in 1265. The current castle is only half of its original size! You continue cycling through the beautiful Betuwe, a vibrant area full of fruit orchards, water and lovely dike villages. Really enjoy. How beautiful the Netherlands is!
