From Rhenen over the Utrechtse Heuvelrug

Through the woods to Leersum
The starting point of this route is just outside Rhenen. From here you can cycle into the green forests in no time. De Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park is the largest forest area in the Netherlands after the Veluwe, so there is certainly plenty to explore there. With this route you get to know part of these forests and that probably tastes like more. After more than 20 kilometers of cycling you will arrive in Leersum. This small village at the foot of the Heuvelrug is mainly known for the flower parade that is held there every year in August. You will also find the nature reserve Leersumse Veld near Leersum. This area is also called'the quietest place in the Netherlands\\\'.

Allure Park De Thijmse Berg
You then continue cycling through Amerongen and Elst to Rhenen. You will eventually end your trip at Allurepark De Thijmse Berg. Here you can book a chalet or a cottage to spend the night comfortably after your active trip. From here you can also follow route 533220.

Mill Maallust
In Amerongen you cycle past the Maallust windmill. In 1541 there was already a mill on the site, but it was replaced in 1830 by the current stone mill. This is the only belt flour mill in all of Utrecht. The mill ran until the 1920s and then it quickly went downhill with the mill. In 2008, the mill was restored to its former glory as far as possible. The mill is now ready to grind again.
