You'll start in Cothen, where you can catch a glimpse of Rhijnestein Castle, which dates back to the thirteenth century. The area surrounding the centuries-old castle is a protected village view. In the village, you'll also pass Oog in 't Zeil, a corn mill dating from 1869. Then you'll cycle through the Kromme Rijn region, with its expansive meadows and stately homes. You'll climb the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, after which you'll pass Holiday Park De Bonte Vlucht. North of Leersum, you can enjoy a wonderfully peaceful cycle through the vast forests. At Horeca De Bosrand, you can relax on a cozy terrace. The restaurant is located right next to Holiday Park De Ossenberg. You'll cycle through the forests to your next destination: Amerongen Castle. From the Lekdijk, you'll see Wijk bij Duurstede slowly approaching.
