Deventer gingerbread
Through the forests and the Achterhoek scenic landscape you drive into Deventer, one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands. You will find a beautiful historic center including the Lebuïnus Church, a Gothic hall church from the fifteenth century. Take your time to soak up the special atmosphere. And to stock up on some local gingerbread for the road. Once you cross the river on a ferry, you will pass the Bolwerksmolen. This sawmill dates from 1863.
Wilpse clay
You cycle a few kilometers through the Wilpse Klei, an overflow area of the IJssel where the farms are often located on mounds. You can also admire a rich cultural history in Zutphen. In the floodplains you will pass the Geertruida Cornelia, a flour mill from 1893.
