Walking around Lonneker in Twente

Around Lonneker you walk through a wonderfully quiet landscape where woods, streams and hay and grasslands alternate. At the intersection of the Braakweg and Zuidkamp you pass two monumental buildings. At number 140 you see the oldest building: a coach house from 1884. On the other side of the road is the De Braak farm, which was given its current appearance in 1938. You walk past the Lonnekermolen from 1851. During the Second World War, the miller illegally made large quantities of flour here, which kept many families alive. From the terrace of Sprakel eten & drinken you have a beautiful view of the nostalgic village square. To the west of Lonneker you walk a circle around the former Zuidkamp army base, which was built by the Luftwaffe during the Second World War.
