Walking around Lonneker in Twente

Around Lonneker, you walk through a wonderfully peaceful landscape where groves, streams, and hay and grasslands alternate. At the intersection of Braakweg and Zuidkamp, you pass two monumental buildings. At number 140, you see the oldest building: a coach house from 1884. Across the road lies De Braak farm, which acquired its current appearance in 1938. You walk past the Lonneker Mill from 1851. During the Second World War, the miller illegally produced large quantities of flour here, which kept many families alive. To the west of Lonneker, you walk a loop around the former Zuidkamp army base, which was constructed by the Luftwaffe during the Second World War.
