Your route starts at Hotel Restaurant Steensel, one of the Acht Zaligheden. A large part of the route takes you through Boswachterij De Kempen, near the border with Belgium. Civilization seems far away here. The route takes you through endless forests dominated by conifers. Postel seems like a small spot on the map, but people come from far and wide because of the medieval Norbertine abbey. The brotherhood of about 20 Norbertines is still very open and geared towards guests. A real must is the abbey shop where home-made products are sold: Postel abbey cheeses, abbey beer, bread, milk and butter. You cycle right through nature to De Grote Cirkel on the Peelsche Heide near Reusel, a handy orientation point for pilots in the Second World War.
