Description
Montfort is an ideal base for exploring the Roerdalen region and De Meinweg National Park. First, you drive through a mix of forest and agricultural land to Sint Odilienberg. In the old village centre, you will see the medieval Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekapel and the Basilica of the HH Wiro, Plechelmus and Otgerus. Just outside the village, you will pass the Buitenplaats Frymerson. On the Roer, you will pass Geluksplek 22 Roerdalen: the Gelukspijlers of the Fietsbrug. Further on, you will find the Prins Bernhard, a corn mill from 1999. Via Herkenbosch, you will make a short climb to De Meinweg National Park. Here, you can enjoy the fresh air and peace on rolling paths. At Vlodrop, you will encounter the Roer again, and a little later you will pass Geluksplek 24. The route ends at Cafe biej de Vogel.
