Tour of Ooijpolder and Millingen aan de Rijn

In the Ooijpolder the Waal is never far away. You will see authentic mound farms that remind you of the time when dikes offered less security against the rising river water. In Persingen you pass the beautiful fifteenth-century village church. On the left you see the hills that are part of the Lower Rhine moraine. Further on you drive a few kilometers along the banks and floodplains of the Waal. In Kekerdom you pass beautiful dike houses and the fourteenth-century St. Laurentius Church. At IJssalon Clevers Millingen aan de Rijn it is time for a traditional ice cream on the cozy terrace on the river. Finally, you cycle through the Duffelt, a low-lying region that extends into Germany. Here too you can enjoy panoramic views and the invigorating peace. The route ends at Wylerbergmeer.
