Enjoy the scenic landscape near Diepenveen

From Diepenveen you can take a beautiful bike ride through the Salland countryside. You will find plenty of natural beauty here, such as the Wechelerveld, which is located just after junction 65. In this small-scale nature reserve you will see heathland and trees such as oak, Scots pine and birch. You drive criss-cross northwards through the lovely scenic landscape, to Wesepe. Here you will pass the Gothic Nicholas Church, which dates from the fourteenth century. In the countryside you drive a few kilometers along the Soestwetering, a watercourse that was dug centuries ago to develop the area. From junction 68 you drive through Nijendal, an estate where forests and cultivated land alternate. Finally, in Diepenveen you will pass the village church: a centuries-old remnant of a former women's monastery. The route ends with a terrace at the Friends of Diepenveen.
