Overloonse Duinen walking route

From Boompjes Restaurant you can take a walk through the Overloonse Duinen. On the edge of this nature reserve you pass through the Museum Park. Here you will see some monuments and an American tank that keep the memory of the Battle of Overloon alive. In September 1944, almost all of Overloon was destroyed during the battle between the Allies and the Germans. The Overloonse Duinen are now an oasis of peace. Ideal for a day of relaxation. Fresh-smelling trees such as Scots pine, larch and Douglas fir grow mainly on the wastelands. The route also takes you along the Schaartven and over a heathland. To the south of the nature reserve you look out over grasslands and arable lands. Back at Boompjes it is time for a coffee and a snack on the cozy terrace.
