Description
This medium cycling route departs from the parking lot of the"Hertog Jan\\\" beer brewery in Arcen. You are directly on the route from this point.
When you return, you can relax and enjoy this beautiful nature route with a drink and a drink on the terrace of the Hertog-Jan tasting.
The route takes you past farmlands, fields and especially through the forest and heathland of the Hamert Estate and the Maasduinen nature reserve.
With the heather in bloom, you can enjoy a beautiful and exuberant display of colors during this ride (which is 65 km according to the cycle computer). There are more than enough benches along the way where you can enjoy nature in the sun.
The route is approximately 50/50 paved/unpaved. The unpaved cycle paths through the area are well compacted and contain few potholes or rough bumps and are therefore very easy to ride on.
With luck you will cycle between the sheep herds and you will also meet the cattle and goats who will welcome you warmly and curiously because they think you will probably have something edible with you..........
