Walking along the Heukelomse Beek

This route takes you through nature to the east of the Limburg Meuse village of Aijen. You walk here through the valley of the Heukelomse Beek. Part of the route is on unpaved paths, so make sure you have sturdy shoes. While walking you have plenty of time to enjoy a landscape of grasslands and forests where alders and willow thickets grow. It is wonderfully quiet in this region. Ideal if you want to catch up with your fellow walkers or to clear your mind. From node 59 you have a glimpse of the Maas. At the beginning of summer you can see pink cuckoo flowers blooming in a number of places, a nice view. At the end of the route it is time for a meal at Eetcafé Jaykes.
