Wandering in the Achterhoek - Ruurlo

A. Opposite the station towards Ruurlo Centrum, follow Stationsstraat, past the cemetery and Sint-Willibrorduskerk (left). Cross the priority road and rd, Domineesteeg, past the music dome. End of the road la, Dorpsstraat. Keep right at the roundabout and follow the path to the right along the Vordenseweg. First road right, Orchard. First road la, Binnenmansdijk, becomes dirt road.
Track over and right, Loorsteeg (dead end). Approx. 75 m before the next level crossing turn left into the forest road, after 50 m keep right at the fork. First sandy path right, between meadows, along hard stone bench. Across a wooden bridge over the Baakse Beek.
Across bridge in front of bench immediately ra, wide winding forest path. Traffic road (Vordenseweg, Attention: dangerous point!) Cross the rd, left of house no. 4 forest path. At the junction rd direction Pannenkoekenboerderij De Heikamp. Cross the Hengeloseweg diagonally and across the Heikamp car park (Toeristiek Overstap Punt (TOP) is the Heikamp on the right, the Doolhof is on the left).
B. Immediately behind the restaurant (and before the parking lot), turn left onto the Kabouterpad. On hillside with picnic bench and seven-forked rd. (A mill stood on this hill until 1830) Follow the wide forest path along the heath (right). After the closing tree right, Oude Zelhemseweg.
At the intersection at P-23756 la, Rommelderdijk. Cross Zelhelmseweg towards Marienvelde, Spijkerdijk. First asphalt road la, Hillebrandsweg. Paved road becomes dirt road. At intersection at forest edge rd. Follow forest road lined with oaks.
At the bench cross the asphalt road, dirt road with oak trees. Further on cross Baakse Beek. Rd via wide wooden bridge over the moat of Huis te Ruurlo. After bridge on parallel road right. (You can make an extra loop around Huis te Ruurlo on the right.) At the roundabout, cross Rondweg-Zuid (Caution: dangerous point!), cycle path along Vordenseweg. Before level crossing ra, Houtwal and via pedestrian bridge to station.
