During the war, several people from Someren were shot dead along the canal in Someren, including Mayor Smulders. There are still relatives living there, among others. Waalre and Vessem.
This route also passes the new (2023) WWII museums in Budel"WEN IT WAS DARK 39 - 45\\\" at the Burg. v. Houtstraat 1, located at the traffic lights at the southernmost tip of this route in Budel. The museum"Noit Forgete\\\" is located at Stationsstraat 58 in Maarheeze. (Can only be visited by appointment.) But you will also pass the site of the Airplane Crash at FKP 64 and the War Cemetery at Kloostervelden. And in Someren you can even learn to fly in this museum.
So you will pass a total of 5 Museums on this route!
