If you drive down the dike from the dam and lock complex in Sambeek, you will see it in the distance: the St. John's Tower of Sambeek. It towers high above the Maasheggen landscape. It is not without reason that the people of Sambek call the large medieval tower 'knoeper'. Once, on Christmas night, a devil danced around the spire. Get on your bike and help search for a clock that disappeared. Listen carefully, you might hear it ringing somewhere...
