Cycling through the Northeast Twente National Landscape

Singraven estate
The first part of this route takes you from Ootmarsum to Denekamp. Just before you enter Denekamp you cycle past the Singraven estate. On this estate you will find Huis Singraven, De Molen van Singraven, a coach house and various lease farms. The manor house was built in 1415 and it has had several owners over the years. The house has been renovated several times and rooms have been laid out in the style of Louis XV and Louis XIV. Singraven and in particular the water mills on the estate used to be loved by various painters. That is not surprising, because the estate is also a true picture to see.

The Lutter sand

Nature reserve Het Lutterzand is a 750-hectare area through which the river Dinkel flows. You will find special sand drifts along the banks of the Dinkel, heaths and sloping areas with trees. Furthermore, this area is very popular with birds such as the buzzard, the long-tailed tit, the woodlark and the nightjar. The Dinkel itself is very popular with the large yellow wagtail and the kingfisher. On the steep banks of the Dinkel you can occasionally observe a nesting sand martin.
