You pass the Binnenhof, the center of Dutch politics for centuries. Museum de Gevangenpoort is a unique medieval gatehouse, one of the three entrance gates to the castle of the Counts of Holland (now the Binnenhof). Here you can see how prisoners were locked up, tried and punished from the 15th to the early 19th century. The Peace Palace was built about 100 years ago and laid a solid foundation for The Hague as an international city of Peace and Justice.
