Ede, Gelderland, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 3415575
Provided by: Groots Genieten
First you drive past the Binnenveldse Hooilanden. This nature reserve consists of species-rich grasslands that grow on moist peat soil. There used to be many of these so-called blue grasslands in the Netherlands, but now they are extremely rare. On the horizon you can already see the Grebbeberg, which you will pass a little later. You cycle past the De Blauwe Kamer nature reserve, after which you cross the Rhine. On the dike you drive past a replica of a Roman watchtower. It stands right on the Limes, or the northern border of the Roman Empire as it once lay here. You continue across the dike through the Betuwe. You cross the Rhine again, after which you make two climbs through the wooded hills between Elst and Rhenen.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
