Tour of Oosterbeek and Heelsum

Recreation park De Dikkenberg is an ideal base for exploring Oosterbeek and its surroundings. First, you cycle through the forests along the Rhijnspoor. Then you cycle a bit through Planken Wambuis. How beautiful and quiet it is here! Further on, you cycle through two contiguous, slightly undulating estates: Westerheide and the Warnsborn. Here you will find a varied landscape of heathland, springs, grasslands and coniferous and deciduous forests. In Oosterbeek, you cycle past the Oude Kerk. It dates from the tenth century and is therefore one of the oldest church buildings in the Netherlands. From the Fonteinallee, you have beautiful views of the banks of the Rhine. You pass Doorwerth Castle, after which you cycle back into the forests via Heelsum. Time for a drink on the terrace at Eetcafé De Schaapskooi.
