Tour of historical discoveries in the Achterhoek

Your route starts at TOP Megchelen. There is a lot of natural beauty and cultural history to experience along the Oude IJssel. You cycle quite a few kilometers along the reed-covered bank. A beautiful path where you enjoy views, the rippling water and the tranquility. On the edge of Ulft you can see the factory of the former DRU iron foundry. The monumental buildings serve as a cultural center. You enter Germany via Sinderen. Just across the border you will pass Anholt Castle, an impressive moated castle from the twelfth century. There is a museum in the castle. A little further on you will pass Huis Landfort, a castle and estate from the fifteenth century. The monumental house was extensively renovated in the eighteenth century.
