Tour of historical discoveries in the Achterhoek

Your route starts at TOP Megchelen. There is a lot of natural beauty and cultural history to experience along the Oude IJssel. You cycle quite a few kilometers along the reed-covered bank. A beautiful path where you can enjoy the views, the rippling water and the peace and quiet. On the edge of Ulft you can see the factory of the former iron foundry DRU. The monumental buildings serve as a cultural center. In Varsseveld, get off at Restaurant Enzovoort. You enter Germany via Sinderen. Just across the border you pass Anholt Castle, an impressive moated castle from the twelfth century. A museum is located in the castle. A little further on you pass Huis Landfort, a castle with estate from the fifteenth century. The monumental house was extensively renovated in the eighteenth century.
