Explore the Biesbosch National Park on foot? Of course! You can also enjoy the mosaic of water, reed beds and creeks from the land. With this route you will discover the beauty of the Kleine Noordwaard in the Brabant part of the Biesbosch.

Waxing Moon
The Biesbosch is one of the few freshwater areas in the world where there is ebb and flow. Visual artist Paul de Kort has beautifully incorporated this into De Wassende Maan. This work of art consists of water channels and dikes and looks different every time due to the influence of the weather, the tide and the seasons. Climb the man-made hill at the Bandijk to discover the work of art.

Bird Mecca
From the dike you have beautiful views over the many waters and meadows. You see many birds, such as the pintail, teal, wigeon, gadwall and shoveler. If you are lucky, you will even catch a glimpse of the osprey and sea eagle that come here to hunt occasionally. So take your binoculars with you. And your boots, because it is wet here.

Old willow and reed culture
When the Haringvliet locks were put into operation in 1970, the tidal difference in the Biesbosch was no longer two metres, but forty centimetres. This gave new crops the opportunity to grow, so that they displaced the traditionally common reed buntings and damp fields with willow wood (the so-called grienden). However, next to the Biesbosch MuseumEiland lies De Pannekoek, a small area where you can still see the centuries-old reed and grienden culture. The two-kilometre walk takes you past a willow garden, among other things. You can also learn everything about the Biesbosch in the museum itself.
