Cycling through the woods near Dalfsen and Ommen

The first part of this quiet route takes you through the Vechtdal. You can climb the De Stokte lookout tower to get a beautiful view of the meadows, forests and meandering Vecht. Further on, you cross the river on a ferry and drive to Vilsteren, a picturesque estate village. You cycle through the forests below Ommen to the Het Laar estate, whose origins date back to around 1700. Between junctions 70 and 73 you cycle along the old church path from Giethmen to Ommen. The charming drawbridge over the Regge is an icon. From the heathland in the Archemerberg nature reserve you have a beautiful view of the surroundings. A little later you drive through the vast forests of therechterse Veld.
