Dancing trees, views over the heath and of course that invigorating silence: a day on the Veluwe is never boring.
Nymphs in the Speulderbos
A little later you drive into the Veluwe, you cycle through the Speulderbos. A real primeval forest where nature can run its course and where it is wonderfully quiet. You see shiny spruce, gnarled oaks, crooked birches and tall ferns. When it's a bit foggy it seems - with a little imagination - as if a group of nymphs are performing a ritual dance here.
Romans on the Ermelosche Heide
You have beautiful views of the Speulderveld and the Ermelosche Heide. On the Ermelosche Heide there are still dozens of burial mounds from the time of the Bell Beaker culture of 2500 BC. In the second century there was a military camp with about 5000 Roman legionaries. Today, sheep mainly roam the heath.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
