Description

Your route starts at De Hazelaarshof. You drive straight through the Millingerwaard to the ferry, which takes you to Doornenburg Castle. This beautiful castle is one of the largest and best preserved castles in the Netherlands. A little further on you will discover the Rijnstrangen in the Gelderse Poort, where the Rhine splits into the Waal and the Pannerdens Canal. The area is no longer in contact with the river. The nature is very special because of the seepage water from the Montferland. Enjoy the rugged river landscape with the old rivers and then drive into Germany. You cycle through Elten at the foot of the 80 meter high Eltenerberg. In Lobith, get off at the Schipperspoort: the remains of the Tolhuys castle that stood here until the seventeenth century.
