After a nice walk through the polder you will discover Hulshorst according to Huszar. The Hungarian artist Vilmos Huszar (Budapest, 1884 - Harderwijk, 1960) left for The Hague at the beginning of the twentieth century. Around 1915 he came into contact with artists such as Piet Mondriaan, Theo van Doesburg and Bart van der Leck with whom he would found the magazine and art movement De Stijl two years later. Due to the increasing threat of war, the Jewish Huszar moved permanently to Hierden with his family in 1940 and offered help to the resistance there. Then you walk on to Kasteel De Essenburgh, a fairytale castle from 1652 between forests and vast heathlands. There is a monastery building of the Norbertines.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
