Description

Your route starts at EuroParcs De Zanding. It is named after the Zanding nature reserve in Otterlo, which you will walk through first. On the heath you can see rare butterflies such as the heather butterfly and the comma butterfly. You can also look for locusts, there are special species such as the blue-winged locust. This is even one of the last sites in the Netherlands where you can still spot the very rare saddle locust. In the Otterlose Buurtbos you walk along the edge of the Mosselse Zand, a shifting sand area that is grazed by a herd of wild ponies and sheep. Don't be surprised if there are some deer in between. On the way back you will arrive in the pleasant village of Otterlo at a listening point of the Liberation Route: L56: De Slag om Otterlo.
