Description

Your route starts at Restaurant de Woerdt. Here you will also find Camperplaats de Woerdt and Landwinkel de Woerdt. In Bemmel you can enjoy a terrace at Het Wapen. Take a look at the Wodanseik at the Wylerbergmeer, painted by Barend Cornelis Koekkoek. You have a beautiful view of the Duivelsberg. You will also pass Roman tracks, such as R8: Roman command post. The Roman Emperor Augustus sent more than 10,000 soldiers to this region. They are building a command center here for their conquest of Germania. Later, the R7: Roman camp was founded on the foothills of the Berg en Dal moraine. In what is now Nijmegen East, there was a Roman army camp consisting of thousands of soldiers and officers, which you will discover at R6: Oldest Roman settlement.
