Description

You follow De Groenzoom, a nature and recreation area that connects Midden-Delfland with the Groene Hart. From here you cycle to the Rottemeren, which consist of several lakes that are connected to each other. After the reclamation, the surrounding polders started to settle and peat, so that the Rottemeren are now higher than the surrounding landscape. You will also pass the Eendrachtsmolen, built in 1727, which drained the Eendragtspolder. You cycle back through the Hoge Bergse Bos, which is a bit hillier than the Lage Bergse Bos. These hills were created by the disposal of demolition and construction waste, but you don't see any of that anymore today. Nowadays it is a beautiful nature reserve, which continues beautifully into the Rotte and the Rottemeren.
