Tour of Huis Overcinge near Havelte

Your route starts at LUDIEK eten en slapen in Havelte. Enjoy a cup of coffee and then put on your walking shoes. You walk through the beautiful Drenthe esdorpje to Huis Overcinge, a monumental mansion. It was originally a fief of the Gelderse house Putten near Elburg and was already mentioned at the beginning of the 14th century. In the 15th century, the De Vos van Steenwijk family was the feudal lord of the estate. The current Overcinge house, however, dates from a much later date. In the 17th century, the fief was in the hands of the Struuck family. The land register of Drenthe, Johan Struuck, had the existing buildings demolished and two new buildings built. He mentioned his father, the Drenthe deputy Gerhardt Struuck, as the builder of Overcinge.
